Auditions for the play
So the euphoria of being selected for the inuagural Tamarama Rock Surfers season at The Bondi Pavilion, was somewhat tempered with the bad news that 2009 cast members Toby Levins and Marcel Bracks couldn’t commit to the show in November as they were both committed to other projects – Toby having moved to Vancouver.
So Sam, Greg and Nick had to organise auditions for the roles of Frankie and Macca.
The auditions took place on Sunday 19th July at The Bondi Pavilion.
We whittled down a huge response to the casting, to a shortlist of 20 actors who gave us a huge headache.
Selection criteria was based around a few key factors – obviously performance and delivery is critical but so was the look of the actor so that the three characters looked like mates. The character and personality of the actor was also important in that he would fit in with the personalities within the cast and crew – after all we’re going to spend a lot of time with each other so its important we get on.
We were faced with such a tough decison but are thrilled to announce Christian Willis in the role of Frnakie and Wayne Bradley (pictured below in his audition) in the role of Macca.
